The Spark

The European Union wants to be climate neutral by 2050. In order to achieve this goal, the circular economy is essential. By recycling, repairing and reusing goods that have already been produced, the CO2 footprint of almost all industries can be massively reduced.

Germany's economy urgently needs to rethink - away from a linear logic towards new strategies for recycling, the design of product life cycles and the solidarity of decision-makers for circular economy.

This is made possible primarily by digital business models and products, such as software solutions for recycling, reprocessing, optimization or life cycle management of products.

With top-class experts, we will discuss the importance of the “circular economy” for Germany's sustainability transformation, innovative business models, current challenges and concrete approaches for implementation in companies in a live stream on September 18th from 6 p.m.

The event highlights the main theme of the eighth edition of “The Spark – The German Digital Prize”, one of the most important tech start-up awards in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This year, the initiative partners Handelsblatt and McKinsey & Company are looking for the most innovative circular economy start-ups from the DACH region. We will also introduce you to the top 10 business models and their founders in a live stream.
